The company said in an official statement: “There was an incident at the Wels Resch&Frisch production facility. Ammonia escaped near the cooling system. Resch&Frisch management and production management reacted immediately and evacuated the office and production facility. The affected employees were taken to hospital as a precaution, there were no injuries. We immediately worked to repair the damage.”
When asked by “Krone”, the Red Cross confirmed a mission in Wels and explained that fourteen people had been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
