Emilio Titos will retire on January 1 and leave the management of the Mercedes factory in Vitoria more than 40 years at the helm of the largest company in the Basque Countrywith about 5000 direct employees.

The announcement of the change in management will take place after the turnaround in the Thursday union elections at the factory, in which ELA was the winner, beating UGT, who won four years ago. In addition, the union bloc that rejected the agreement last summer, ELA, LAB and ESK, outnumbered those who signed it with the multinational’s management: UGT, CCOO, Ekintza and PIM.

In an internal circular made public this Friday, the company announces that the current CEO will enjoy him starting next year “earned retirement” and announces that he will announce “as soon as possible” who will be his successor.

The company thanks you in this circular for your “excellent work, loyal commitment and your continued willingness to work together” and wish you “the best” for the future.
