Girl Murdered – Teen asked web for help disposing of body

Date:

A video chat on the social media platform Instagram led US police to a suspected killer – the suspect is only 16 years old. In a conversation with a friend, the teenager admitted that he had just killed someone and then showed parts of a blood-stained corpse. Then he asked if she could help him dispose of the body.

The sensational case took place in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. “During the video chat, the 16-year-old said he had just killed someone,” police said in a statement. “Then he reversed the video image and showed the legs and feet of a blood-covered person. He then asked for help in disposing of the body.” The girl who was contacted told her mother about the conversation, who then alerted the police.

The victim had a gunshot wound to the chest
Officers drove to Joshua Cooper’s home, an RV in a trailer park. When they got there, they saw a young man running away. In the 16-year-old’s bathroom, they discovered a young girl lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest, reportedly only 13 years old. “There was also evidence that significant steps were being taken to clean up the crime scene,” police said.

A little later, they were also able to catch the teenager who was hiding in the woods – he was arrested and interrogated. Cooper told police it was “an accident”. He sorted out his father’s gun safe in the morning, later the future victim contacted him and came to watch a Netflix series. The 16-year-old did not want to say more about it.

16 years is treated as an adult
The teen was denied bail. He will face trial in common court rather than juvenile court – Pennsylvania law requires juveniles to be charged with murder and other violent crimes as adults.
