77 Christmas Trees – Jill Biden presents this year’s Christmas decorations

Date:

The White House is already beaming with Christmas splendor: US First Lady Jill Biden presented this year’s Christmas decorations at the US government headquarters in Washington on Monday. “What we have in common is so much bigger than the things that separate us,” she said as she presented the Christmas decorations.

This year’s decoration has the theme “We the People” (in German: “Wir, das Volk”) – words from the US Constitution. This concept of unity describes the “soul of the nation,” the First Lady explained.

77 Christmas trees, 83,000 lights
According to their office, 77 Christmas trees have been erected and more than 83,000 Christmas lights have been installed. As usual, large wreaths decorate the windows at the front of the government building.

150 volunteers helped for a week
Like every year, a gingerbread version of the White House was built from dough and frosting. More than 150 volunteers from across the country helped decorate the interior and exterior of the government headquarters for a week, sources said.
