10,000 days of service – ‘In 40 years as a police officer I’ve been through a lot’

Date:

Hardly any other Tyrolean law enforcement officer has participated in so many functions in the changes in society as Andreas Haas. The pensioner from Kramsach will look back on Wednesday from midnight onwards. Also for sad experiences.

Andreas Haas served under 18 interior ministers, mediated marriage disputes, grabbed adolescents “by the tie”, convicted arsonists and investigated Tyrol’s most gruesome kidnapping case involving a dead child. He was responsible for setting up the Schengen controls in Kufstein and for the migration issue. He was the security contact for eight communities in the Kramsach region.

During the visit of “Krone” to the inspection department there, the 62-year-old father of two adult children emptied his locker. A look back at about 10,000 days as a gendarme and police officer, in which the “thread” to the citizens was important to him.
