At a construction site in Guntramsdorf in Lower Austria, a 29-year-old was hit by the front wheel of a truck on Wednesday. The man from Wiener Neustadt suffered fatal injuries.
According to the police, the worker was lying on the floor because of a scuffle with a 47-year-old colleague. The responsible labor inspectorate is currently investigating. The police have already filed a complaint with the public prosecutor’s office.
Driver overlooked men on the ground
The two construction workers are said to have had an argument around 9:30 am. The argument escalated and continued on the floor. A 50-year-old drove off with the truck at the same time – after the concrete had been unloaded – and may have overlooked the men lying in front of the vehicle.
While the 29-year-old was fatally injured, his older opponent suffered minor injuries. The 47-year-old and the driver of the truck will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt after the investigation has been completed, the state police of Lower Austria emphasized in a broadcast.
