Because embers are probably ignited in an ash vacuum cleaner, there was a lot of smoke development in a house in Zirl on Thursday morning. The residents – including a small child – were taken to the clinic in Innsbruck as a precaution.
Around 7:15 am the sirens are wailing in Zirl. “There was a fire with a lot of smoke development in the kitchen of a family home,” the police said. According to previous investigations, ember residues were still in an ash vacuum parked next to a pellet stove and ignited.
Amount of damage still unclear
“The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly,” said the management. The residents of the house – a 33-year-old Bosnian, a 40-year-old Austrian and their one-year-old daughter – were taken to the Innsbruck clinic for a medical examination. “The amount of damage caused is still unknown. Further investigation is underway,” the investigators emphasize.
