Will Smith publicly apologized to Chris Rock after he rushed onto stage and slapped an Oscar presenter.
Describing himself as the current job, Mr. Smith said joking about Jada’s health was “too much” for him, but that violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. “There is no place for violence in the world of love and kindness,” he added.
In an Instagram post published Monday afternoon US time – Tuesday morning UK time – Mr Smith said: “Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and unjustifiable. But joking about Jada’s health was… Acceptable for me and I had an emotional reaction.
“I want to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was offline and I was wrong. I feel ashamed and my actions were not indicative of who I want to be. There is no place for violence in the world of love. And kindness.” to all over the world. I want to apologize to the Williams family and to the family of King Richard. I am deeply sorry that my behavior was tainted. “You did the work, respectfully, Will.”
