A noisy neighbor on Saturday evening in Vienna-Leopoldstadt first cost a 53-year-old peace of mind and then his freedom. According to the State Police Directorate, at 2:45 a.m. there was a physical argument in the residential building on Leopoldsgasse.
The man who was deprived of his night’s sleep initially threatened the troublemaker with a gas pressure revolver and eventually fired shots at the 49-year-old in the stairwell. This one was unharmed.

Agents of the Leopoldsgasse police inspection arrested the apparently drunk 53-year-old in the stairwell. The gas revolver was secured.
The two parties to the dispute may not have been on good terms since yesterday. “There have been conflicts between them for a while,” said police spokesman Markus Dittrich.
