The Adnet volunteer fire brigade rescued two people from a smoky residential building in Adnet im Tennengau on Sunday evening. It involved a person in need of care who was in a wheelchair and her carer.
The two were taken to hospital by the Red Cross for a check-up, but were able to leave after a short time. A carport next to the house caught fire, the fire service reports.
At 3:34 a.m., the emergency services were alerted. A respiratory protection team removed the two people from the smoky house and at the same time started extinguishing work on the carport, which was on fire on the side wall. Because flames could also be seen on the ridge, the roof membrane had to be opened.
After about half an hour shots were fired. The emergency services ventilated the building and checked everything again with the thermal imaging camera for any embers.
