Three people were killed in an explosion at a Russian airport near the city of Ryazan, about 200 kilometers southeast of Moscow. Six others were injured. Two people were injured and two aircraft damaged in a drone attack on a base in Russia’s Saratov region. This base is even 600 kilometers away from the nearest Ukrainian position.
No information was initially available about the cause of the explosion at Ryazan. “There was such a roar that the windows were shaking,” an eyewitness told Ryazan News.
A tanker is said to have exploded, which then caught fire. An aircraft was reportedly damaged in the incident.
Aircraft damaged at airbase
Two aircraft were killed in a drone strike on a military airport in the Russian region of Saratov. The Russian airbase Engels-2 was hit.
The base is located 400 km southeast of Moscow. It houses Tu-95 strategic bombers and was the launch pad for numerous attacks on Ukraine.
