A tragedy took place on the Neumarkt in Styria on Wednesday afternoon: a farmer was hit on the head by a tree during forestry work. All help came too late for the 57-year-old, who succumbed to his serious injuries on the spot.
Around noon, the farmer from Murau district was engaged in woodworking with a friend. While the 58-year-old fell a tree, the 57-year-old was in danger for unknown reasons.
Paramedics fought for his life
The 57-year-old was hit in the head by the falling tree. The emergency medical team of the rescue helicopter Christophorus 17 did everything they could to save the man. However, the farmer succumbed to his serious injuries.
