Early Thursday morning, the professional fire brigade had their hands full: around 03:00 a fire broke out in an apartment in the Herrengasse (the old town of Salzburg).
“22 firefighters rushed to the fire on the ground floor,” reports Thomas Schauer of the professional fire brigade. “There was no one in the apartment.” Other residents of the home were evacuated by firefighters.
The helpers managed to extinguish the fire quickly and around 3:30 a.m. “fire out” could already be given. “Operations in the old city are always problematic for us because of access. Raising the funds is a challenge,” says Schauer.
No one was injured in the fire and the cause of the fire is still unclear.
