In Upper Styria, an official animal inspection escalated on Wednesday: twelve sled dogs had to be removed from a 61-year-old because they were housed in too small kennels. The man then panicked…
On Wednesday morning, representatives of the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district administration and a police escort knocked on the door of a 61-year-old dog owner in Seewiesen. The man is said to have kept twelve sled dogs in too small kennels, in violation of an official order.
officer seriously injured
Apparently the Upper Styrian was not very happy about the visit from the authorities and did not understand it. When animal rescue tried to take the dogs out of the kennel, the dog’s owner became aggressive and refused to step aside. Suddenly he tried to hit a police officer and was knocked down by two officers. As the man continued to rage, police said he should be handcuffed and ankle cuffed. One officer sustained serious injuries to his finger.
From police to ambulance
On the way to the police station, the rioter complained of chest pains and the police called the rescue service. The 61-year-old was taken to hospital and admitted to hospital. Since the man also legally owns a gun, it has been taken from him and a temporary gun ban has been imposed. He is also set free.
The deported dogs were housed in two animal shelters.
