A Viennese crashed Thursday with his paraglider on the Hohe Wand in Lower Austria. The 29-year-old survived the incident with injuries. A witness saw the crash and set the rescue chain in motion.
The 29-year-old took off from the eastern start at Hohe Wand shortly after 1pm. About half an hour later, part of the parachute collapsed due to a so-called deep stall, the state police of Lower Austria reported in a broadcast.
This caused the Viennese to topple and crash into the rough terrain. He sustained injuries. The 29-year-old was rescued with a rope and flown with the emergency medical helicopter “Christophorus 3” to the state hospital Wiener Neustadt.
