Despite price explosions, there will be enough ski holidaymakers again. No guests from Austria are required.
The 2015/16 winter season started with a scandal: For the first time, a ski area in Salzburg broke the magical limit of 50 euros for a day ski pass. Saalbach-Hinterglemm dared and was the first to break through the price barrier. Other areas soon followed. Seven winters later, a day of skiing in the Glemmtal already costs 66 euros, elsewhere even more. And the outrage? It’s gone now.
