What a celebration of Christmas! After a very long, desperate struggle, a man from Graz finally has his family from Vietnam with him.
This Christmas will be the best of his life for Chris R. from Graz! For the first time he experiences it as a father together with his Vietnamese girlfriend and the twin sons. Who finally, after a long, desperate struggle with the authorities, were allowed to enter Graz from Vietnam.
Krone readers know how hard the man from Graz, who holds an executive position at a large Asian company, had to fight for this good ending. His girlfriend, a highly educated Vietnamese whom he met during his studies in Graz, was simply not allowed to come to Austria despite all efforts because of the ever-emerging official obstacles.
His twins were born much prematurely a year ago, on December 3, and the mother fought for the lives of the premature babies in Hanoi. The father could only sympathize from afar when he first saw his minis in Hanoi when they were four months old. State Governor Christopher Drexler and even Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen intervened in response to our reports; then everything went very fast and the woman finally got her visa.
And now Mama, Leon and Lucas have arrived in Graz! You can celebrate together. And feel very good.
It went from the wonderfully warm Hanoi to the somewhat cooler Graz. “The first days we spend more time in the apartment so that the children can slowly acclimatize,” says the cordial Vietnamese Thu. “But from here we have a wonderful view of the Schöckl and the Schloßberg.” And, “I’m so happy when I can get our sons to play in the snow for the first time, they don’t even know it.” Styria, “they like it”. They grow up with English, even trilingual.
Before the wedding there are still bureaucratic hurdles
By the way: the couple would also like to get married now. But – here too the bureaucracy has put up the hurdles …
The visa is initially valid for six months. But of course the family would like to stay together and that in Graz. Thu: “It’s a beautiful place with friendly people.”
Condolences to the family after all the drama!
