Strangers almost completely destroyed a phone booth in Amstetten in Lower Austria. They blew it up early Saturday morning with fireworks and also caused a lot of damage in the immediate vicinity.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m., the perpetrators may have lit the fireworks on Krautbergstrasse and thrown them into the phone booth. In the course of the blast, it was almost completely destroyed, parts thrown up to 15 meters, police said on Sunday.
As if that wasn’t enough, a parked car and the cover of a home’s cable TV outlet were also damaged in the explosion. “According to the current state of the investigation, no people were injured by the blast,” the executive said. The extent of the material damage is not yet known.
Information is requested from the Amstetten police inspection on telephone number 059133/3344.
