“I received a delegation from the United States Congress chaired by James McGovern. We discussed our differences and issues of common concern. The shared desire to improve bilateral relations was reaffirmed. I expressed the need to end to measures that harm the Cuban people,” writes Díaz-Canel on Twitter.
James McGovern, chairman of the House of Representatives Rules Committee, was accompanied by his colleagues and fellow party members on his visit Mark Pocan and Troy Carter, as described by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the same social network.

The President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, Stephen Lazo, has also met with congressmen. According to ‘Diario Las Américas’, McGovern stated at the meeting that they “want to work to break down the walls, to have a more mature and constructive relationship, for the benefit of the peoples of Cuba and the United States.”
However, none of the three US politicians have made a publication about it on their social networks.
