Acetone spilled – attempted murder: setting fire to 30-year-old wild man

Suspicion of attempted murder and attempted arson in Lower Austria: According to Sunday evening police reports, a 30-year-old attempted to set fire to a 24-year-old’s jacket. The victim was able to flee to a home. After that, the 30-year-old is said to have spilled a flammable liquid in front of the door. He was caught on a train in Wiener Neustadt on Friday.

Action took place in Aspangberg-St. Peter in the Neunkirchen district. The local resident, who also had a knife with him, is said to have poured acetone on the back of his opponent’s jacket after the altercation and then tried to set the garment on fire. The 24-year-old managed to save himself in a building.

The alleged perpetrator then spilled even more acetone in front of the house, but according to the police, there was no longer a fire. Of course, the 24-year-old did not respond to the enraged man’s requests to leave the house, but alerted the police.

In the meantime, the suspect fled and a search initially yielded no results. On Friday around noon, the entrance came: The 30-year-old was arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt on a train at Wiener Neustadt train station and taken to the prison in the statutory city.
