A 32-year-old soldier in the German Bundeswehr allegedly killed a female soldier with a knife. According to the Koblenz public prosecutor’s office, the crime was discovered on Monday because the man drove his car with the body of the 21-year-old in the passenger seat on the A3 motorway near Dierdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate and had an accident there – a collision with the crash barrier. As a result, police “found” the young woman’s body, the statement said.
The public prosecutor’s office in Koblenz launched an investigation on suspicion of manslaughter against the soldier, who “should have had a relationship before” with his victim.
Suspect is in custody
An arrest warrant has already been issued against the man because of the risk of absconding and he is in prison.
The crime allegedly took place on Friday. The suspect was stationed with the German Bundeswehr in Lower Saxony and the victim is said to have last worked in Koblenz.
