Two employees of a social center in Lower Austria and a manager have been on trial in Wiener Neustadt since Monday. It is about grievances and heavy coercion. The first verdict was passed on Tuesday: the manager of the care home was acquitted.
According to the prosecutor, the list of misconduct is long. It ranges from dinners not being served to withholding medical treatment to restrictions on freedom. The accused company manager is suspected of having heavily coerced a home help who made the abuses public.
“When there were more falls, we used the seat pants. If this was necessary for more than 24 hours, a doctor ordered it,” the first defendant said in a low voice. There were also complaints in other SeneCura houses, most recently in Lehen in Salzburg.
