Not everyone has such spirited and courageous neighbors: three people from the Mühlviertel fought the flames in a barn in Grünbach with five hand fire extinguishers. Five fire brigades also arrived on the scene and quickly brought the fire under control. Fortunately no one was injured.
Around 2 p.m. smoke could be seen from a walker in a shed in the municipality of Grünbach. The woman immediately called the fire brigade and the residents of the house. The two elderly residents were able to leave the house safely.
Three neighbors rushed to the rescue and tried to extinguish the fire with a total of five hand fire extinguishers, which did not work. However, the fire was so well controlled that the flames could be prevented from spreading to the wooden structure of the barn.
Electric hob as trigger
A total of five multi-vehicle fire departments were deployed and brought the fire under control within minutes. Around 3 p.m., firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. No one was injured or threatened. According to initial investigation, the cause of the fire may have been an electric stove.
