A serious accident occurred on the summer toboggan run in Laterns-Gapfohl on Saturday afternoon. Three people were injured, including a 13-year-old girl.
When a leisure activity turns into a nightmare: At around 1:40 p.m., a 48-year-old was driving a sled through the valley on the summer toboggan run in Gapfohl. In the sixth bend, he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, it overturned, the man fell from the vehicle and remained on the track.
He tried to warn the following tobogganists with loud shouts – but in vain: a 47-year-old who was riding directly behind him and who was riding with his 13-year-old daughter, was unable to brake in time and fell. The father-daughter team collided with the victim at high speed.
All those involved in the accident suffered injuries of unknown nature. Father and daughter were eventually flown to the Bregenz State Hospital by the Christophorus 8 medical helicopter – the 48-year-old who had been brought there by the rescue operation also landed there.
