Minor charges – woman hit by car: no murder intent

Date:

Since the fall, the sword of Damocles hangs over a 73-year-old man from the Waldviertel, accused of murder. But after detailed investigation and insight from the Higher Regional Court, this is now off the table.

This was confirmed on Tuesday by Andreas Strobl, the pensioner’s dedicated Viennese lawyer. The man allegedly beat his wife (88) near a fish pond in Litschau (Lower Austria) on October 14 while very drunk and was fatally injured. This had led the common dog out.

The man himself was then found by witnesses on the road behind the car. He had a head injury and was taken to hospital.

What remains: the crime of manslaughter by gross negligence. The 73-year-old suspect remains in custody.
