Terrible traffic accident Friday evening in East Tyrol: A 42-year-old resident left the road with his car and fell 250 meters over a slope. The driver suffered serious injuries. He had to be freed by the fire brigade.
The fatal accident happened around 3:30 am in Matrei in Osttirol. Another driver had seen a car go over the edge of the road in the Zedlach district. The car then crashed about 250 meters over a steep meadow area, police reported.
Rescued from wreckage seriously injured
The witness immediately raised the alarm. “The driver of the car involved in the accident, a 42-year-old Austrian, had to be rescued from the wreckage by the fire service,” the investigators continue.
