Only on Saturday in the Villgratental in East Tyrol was a farmer (55) mowing on a steep mountain meadow. He fell and was seriously injured. Still, the man managed to get help.
The accident happened around noon: the 55-year-old was working with a brushcutter on a steep slope interspersed with rocks in Innervillgraten. The man slipped on a ledge and fell. He had no chance to hold out. The East Tyrolean overturned several times and only came to a stop in a wooded area.
Seriously injured fought his way back
The seriously injured man fought back on the path after the accident and was able to call his son. This set the rescue chain in motion. The 55-year-old was rescued by a rescue helicopter and flown to the Innsbruck clinic.
