Fatal winter sports accident Friday in the Tyrolean Unterland: A 68-year-old Dutchman went off the slopes in the Fieberbrunn ski area and hit a wooden protection with full force. The holidaymaker remained unconscious.
The serious accident happened in the morning around 10 a.m. on a red marked slope. About 50 meters below the mountain station, the 68-year-old suddenly went over the edge of the slope for reasons that are still unclear. The Dutchman then collided head-on against a wooden wall, which serves as protection.
