On Sunday, a large hole yawned in the window of a jeweler on Brunngasse in St. Pölten. The night before, strangers had broken the window and stolen expensive rings and necklaces.
At around 2:40 a.m., the tinkling of the window of a jewelry store woke a neighbor from his sleep. The neighbor looked and saw two men running towards Bräuhausgasse. He immediately alerted the police, but an immediate search turned up nothing. The hitherto unknown perpetrators probably continued their escape by car.
Manhunt for masked people
Before that, the thieves mainly stole rings and chains through the hole in the window. The value of the loot is said to be in the high five-digit range, the traces are still being evaluated. The two unknown perpetrators were masked and wore dark jackets with hoods.
The police requests information from the police command of the city of St. Pölten at 059133-35-3333.
