Serious accident Tuesday morning in Neumarkt in Styria: a 55-year-old crashed into a bridge railing and was seriously injured. He had to be freed from his car by the fire brigade.
The year 2024 ended tragically for a 55-year-old Styrian. On Tuesday around 9.20 am he was driving on the B 317 towards Perchau when, for an unknown reason, he ended up in the left lane near the Schweizklamm and collided with a bridge railing. Rescue services, police and the Neumarkt volunteer fire brigade immediately arrived on the scene. The driver was trapped in his vehicle and had to be freed through the windshield.
After the seriously injured man had received initial care, he was admitted to the German Order Hospital in Friesach. The B 317 was closed to all traffic until 10:30 am. The car had to be rescued from the ditch with the help of a crane.
