The scandalous conditions in a Styrian chicken farm are increasing. Now there is also harsh criticism of the AMA.
Last week, the association against animal factories (VGT) exposed the scandalous conditions in a Styrian chicken farm (we reported). A video of a telehandler crushing live animals circulated, as did footage of chicken carcasses in a cornfield.
Particularly spicy: the company bears the AMA seal of approval. While this immediately triggered an on-site investigation, it has since been heavily criticized.
Harsh criticism of AMA
Now Marcel Haraszti, the Austrian boss of retail giant Rewe, also joins the critical voices. In an interview with the “Kurier” he spoke of a “clear failure of the operating system”.
He emphasized, “Everyone needs to demand tighter controls from the AMA now!” It is not possible to “cheat”.
