A doctor from Burgenland dismisses the sexual abuse of four patients as a “sexual hallucination” – for which he has now been convicted by the Eisenstadt regional court. The doctor thinks the narcotics caused delusions. But the court does not believe in that: three years in prison, two of which are conditional.
Until the last second of the trial, the doctor denied the allegations against him. But the court believes the four women he sexually assaulted. As a patient, they had a gastroscopy or colonoscopy done in the practice of the 46-year-old. This treatment can also be performed under anesthesia – this has been claimed.
Too many coincidences at once
After the procedure, the doctor is said to have touched the woman’s breasts and genitals in the recovery room. While they lay completely defenseless on the couch. That’s what the four victims said in complete agreement. The judge therefore says: “Within four months, four fairly similar cases in an ordination, where nothing had happened years before and no cases occurred after that – you can’t get around this argument.”
However, the doctor insists that the course of events is not possible at all: he is never alone in a room with his patients. There is also always at least one ordination assistant present.
prison for the doctor
According to the judge, it is difficult to imagine in everyday life that he would not have been alone with the women for a second. She very well sees an opportunity for the 46-year-old to commit these acts. Therefore a guilty verdict: three years in prison, two of which are suspended. He immediately announces an appeal and a nullity complaint against the verdict, so it is not yet final.
