Police in Vienna-Donaustadt were alerted on Wednesday night after a 54-year-old desperately tried to break open a small truck and was observed.
An attentive witness noticed loud knocking noises on the street in Kaisermühlen and immediately alerted authorities after catching the man in the act. The 54-year-old was about to break open the parked small truck with a carpenter’s hammer.
54-year-old arrested
After several failed attempts, the burglar fled. A short time later, however, he was stopped and arrested by the police. The alcohol test was positive. After his interrogation, the 54-year-old was transferred to a police detention center because he also had several unpaid administrative fines.
