In Vienna-Döbling, emergency services successfully resuscitated a 35-year-old after he collapsed at work and went into cardiac arrest.
Florian W.’s working day ended on December 13 with a rescue operation. He was working in the office when he suddenly collapsed. Fortunately, some of his colleagues had recently taken a first aid course and responded quickly. After alerting the rescue, they began first aid measures. A short time later, the rescuers were able to take over professional care and continued with the CPR.
Arriving at the hospital, Florian W. was treated with a special heart-lung machine (ECMO). Thanks to this procedure, the life of the 35-year-old could be saved.
“Boundaries on a Christmas Miracle”
Just nine days after his cardiac arrest, Florian W. met his lifeguards from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and the AKH. Thanks to the quick help of his colleagues, he has no consequential damage. “I am pleased that the entire rescue chain has worked so well with everyone involved. The whole thing really borders on a Christmas miracle,” beamed the Viennese.
