Investigations in Tyrol – swastika in the snow leads police to hemp growers

Date:

A curious case has occupied the police in the Tyrolean Unterland in recent days: when an officer marched to work on foot, he discovered a broken fence, a lost mobile phone and a swastika ‘drawn’ in the snow. Subsequent investigations finally led to a 46-year-old suspect – and drugs!

On Wednesday, the officer marched from Brixlegg train station to the police station in Kramsach to take up his duties. But before he got there, he made a curious discovery near a gas station. An initially unknown had broken down a wire mesh fence over a length of 25 meters. The police officer was also able to secure an apparently lost mobile phone.

A Nazi symbol left at the crime scene
After going to the post and officially starting duty, the officer went to the scene of the crime as part of the patrol to collect further evidence. He also discovered a swastika about 80 by 80 centimeters, clearly ‘drawn’ by hand in the snow.

Cola, cannabis and grow tent
Further investigation was the result: a 46-year-old resident was eventually identified as a suspect. In addition, the suspicion arose that the Tyrolean had something to do with drugs.

The public prosecutor then ordered a search of the house. “With the help of a drug sniffer dog, a small amount of cocaine and cannabis was found, as well as several seedlings of a cannabis plant grown in a suitable grow tent and seized,” the researchers said.

Tobacco in the “Nazi bag”, on display
A debit card reported as stolen and a bag of tobacco with swastikas printed on both sides were also seized. Further investigations are underway. The 46-year-old suspect has been released.
