In Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia, a large contingent of emergency services was looking for a heavily drunk 33-year-old who had disappeared without a trace on Monday evening on his way from a party to the next disco.
Three Slovenian citizens were on their way to a discotheque in Bad Kleinkirchheim at around 3 a.m. when one of them, a 33-year-old, suddenly left behind and disappeared. His two concerned friends then alerted the emergency services. “There was a rush, because it was around minus four degrees,” said operations manager Dieter Berger of “Krone” about the situation. 64 emergency services Police, fire brigade, mountain rescue, Johanniter, Samariterbund and the Austrian rescue dog brigade immediately went looking for the missing person.
Stayed at the inn
The 35-year-old man may have lost his way and was probably wandering around the village area. It was not until 08:00 that the holidaymaker actually walked into the arms of the rescuers. “He had been sleeping in a closed and heated bar pavilion in a restaurant for the past few hours,” the police explained.
The Christmas search therefore ended well: “The cooperation of all organizations was exemplary. Despite the holidays, we were in action as a whole team!” Berger praised.
