Animal drama Tuesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Ötztal: A fire broke out in a caravan at a campsite in Längenfeld. Three trapped dogs could not be rescued in time. They died in agony.

Around 3 p.m., a fire suddenly broke out in the interior of the caravan, which apparently was not immediately noticed. When the smoke finally escaped, the fire brigade was immediately alerted. At that time there was no trace of the owners.

A locked caravan has been broken into
The trailer was locked and eventually had to be broken into. Then the sad sight: three dogs locked in the camper could not be rescued. They were dead. It eventually turned out that the German owners were skiing when the fire broke out in Sölden.

The extent of the damage cannot be quantified at this time. The exact cause of the fire is still unclear at this time. investigations are underway.
