Reasons still unclear – Ukrainian missile found in Belarus

Date:

A Ukrainian missile is said to have been discovered on Belarusian territory. State media reported this on Thursday in the capital Minsk. The reasons are currently being investigated. The missile is said to have accidentally reached the territory of Belarus.

That would be a similar incident to the one in November, when Ukrainian anti-aircraft fire hit Polish territory. However, it must also be investigated whether the Belarusian air defense system intercepted the missile itself. Initially there were no injuries. Experts from the Ministries of the Interior and Defense must be present.

Fund as a pretext for attack?
Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko has already been informed of the incident. He had given Russian troops the military bases in Belarus for attacks on Ukraine. There are also concerns in Ukraine that the Russian military could launch another attack from Belarus. Finding a missile can be used as an excuse to take action from there.

The missile found was shot down by the S-300 anti-aircraft system. The state news agency Belta has published a photo that allegedly shows missile remnants. The Belarusian government is considered an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As reported, in November two people died in an explosion in Poland caused by a Ukrainian missile. She had been misled. The Russian military was previously blamed for launching the missile.
