Concerns of the young Viennese – Coach advises for 2023: “Look within”

Date:

Inflation, Corona, war – the annual overview seems gloomy. Also the outlook for 2023? We asked three young Viennese…

The pandemic is over, which is probably the best news for young people around the turn of the year. But the new year is not spared from crises either. The “Krone” spoke to three young Viennese about their fears for the future.

Inflation and war are scary
“The price increases worry me, I’m already feeling them and it’s only getting worse,” says student Rebecca Polith. 17-year-old Paul Plass was once again burdened by the war in Ukraine and its unpredictable consequences.

Hide external crises
So is only pessimism being announced for the coming year 2023? “Young people’s fears have increased due to the social environment. It’s harder for them to see the positive,” says psychosocial advisor Harald Janisch in an interview with “Krone”.

And further: “This only works if you ignore the external crises and look within”, the coach has known for years. He advises setting personal goals, but also living in the here and now. And distractions would also help. “The crowds at the Christmas markets showed how much people are longing for it,” says Janisch.
