Car threatened to crash – trust the navigation system: Chinese rescued from the forest path

Date:

Because the Chinese motorist in Bad Goisern (Upper Austria) followed the instructions of his navigation system too closely, his car threatened to fall over a slope.

The unknown driver, a Chinese (28) actually wanted to go to the hotel. However, he probably relied too much on the directions of his navigation system, because according to the Bad Goisern fire brigade, the journey did not end at the desired destination.

Front wheel hung in the air
Instead, the man was led into a forest in the village of Unterjoch. The actual footpath became narrower and steeper, before the journey ended abruptly a short time later in a steep section at Soleleitungsweg.

The SUV slid upside down on a ramp, with the left front wheel hanging free in the air. However, the slipping was prevented by a stone, which got stuck in the left rear wheel.

The driver stepped on the brake pedal
The driver remained in the vehicle and pressed the brake pedal firmly to prevent further slipping. The police called the FF Bad Goisern to rescue the vehicle overnight. “On the narrow footpath, the manoeuvrable Unimog rescue vehicle once again proved its worth, with its rear cable winch the car in danger of falling could be secured and then carefully recovered,” says FF Goisern.

The end of deployment for the troops deployed with three vehicles was at 12:24 am on Easter Sunday.

The 28-year-old, who was unharmed, was escorted to the hotel room by the Bad Goisern police so that he would not accidentally end up on a forest road again.
