The constant party noise caused a 50-year-old Styrian to panic. “I’ll shoot you,” he threatened the people living next to him. That is why he stood before the criminal court in Graz.
In the countryside, people get along – “One assumes such an idyll, especially among neighbors,” says the 50-year-old Styrian defender, who is now regretfully standing before judge Andreas Rom. But appearances are deceiving: the neighbors were constantly receiving mail, it was impossible to fall asleep with the window open, quiet evenings on the terrace were impossible.
Scares children and adults alike
“I’ve lived here for 45 years now. The terror started five years ago. If music is played twice a year, the police are already there. I hope it’s quiet now,” a witness complained to judge Andreas Rom. The suspect came roaring in his car with horns honking. “I’ll shoot you all. It’s not a threat, it’s a promise!” the man is said to have enraged and frightened not only the adults but also the children.
He himself only wants to remember the words “I’ll shoot you to the moon.” However, a number of testimonials refute this. “Your choice of words was not the right kind. Vigilante doesn’t do anything either, you can see that now,” says Mr. Rat. The result: Diversion, 2700 euro fine, not legally binding. Hopefully things will calm down a bit now, the suspect will move.
