After a visit to the bar on the night of December 31 – as reported – there would have been another argument between the two on the way home. The man must have completely panicked and physically assaulted his wife of the same age. The dangerous incident took place in the Welser Mühlbach district, not far from the city center. The suspect allegedly strangled his partner there around 2 a.m. so violently that she was terrified.

Passers-by noticed the victim’s cries for help and watched. This also allowed the 21-year-old to free herself from her husband’s clutches and get to safety. The woman suffered strangulation wounds on her neck, a bleeding wound on her finger and an injury to her nose. She was treated in hospital.
The rabid husband was arrested. He is no stranger to the police, was convicted of theft in 2019, belongs to the narcotics environment and was charged with material damage and threats. He is now in custody at Wels Regional Court on suspicion of bodily harm, dangerous threats and coercion.
