Sometimes a brave kick against a door can save a life. In Schwanenstadt, Upper Austria, two police officers were called to a house whose owner did not respond. The agents were allowed in.
The two police officers from Schwanenstadt were alerted around 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. The 61-year-old cashier had told the two officers that his 56-year-old brother-in-law had not called since New Year’s Day and that he was now concerned. He drove to his brother-in-law’s house, but he didn’t answer the door.

The man smashed a window on the first floor of the house to allow police access to the property. The search ended at the closed bedroom door of the 56-year-old. Due to the acute suspicion of an accident, one of the officers opened the bedroom door with stairs.

Not a second too late, because the 56-year-old was panting on the floor and was immediately treated. The second police officer immediately called the rescue service and the emergency doctor. After first aid, the 56-year-old was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck.
