This will amount to 112.12 euros MWh, almost half of a month ago, but above last year’s price. It will reach its highest price between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
The average price of electricity on the wholesale market rises this Tuesday by 8.6% and becomes 112.12 euros/megawatt hour (MWh), ending six consecutive days of declines.
According to data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), the average price for tomorrow will be almost half of that of a month ago, when it was 221.92 euros/MWh, although it is higher than the one on the third Tuesday of April last year, when the average price was 34 euros cheaper.
In time spans, electricity will reach its highest price between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, although it will not exceed the 200 Euro/MWh mark and will remain at 170.91 Euro/MWh.
Electricity will have the lowest price this Tuesday between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and then amount to 55.11 euros/MWh.
In the month of April, the average price of electricity so far stands at 197 euros/MWh, making it the cheapest month of 2022.
For next Tuesday, Spain is setting an average daily price on the wholesale market well below that of other major European countries. In the United Kingdom, the price for this Tuesday is 161.40 euros/MWh (194.69 euros/MWh); in Germany 209.31 euros/MWh; in France 217.80 euros and in Italy 233.78 euros, while in Portugal, which shares the electricity market with Spain, the price will be the same.
