A drug party was fatal to Max (name changed by the editors) in 2020 – he passed away. The “Krone” reported extensively on this case. Now there is one more death to mourn: a girl who was there at the time. Illegal drugs also proved fatal.
In September 2020, the young Tyrolean died at the age of 16. The cause of death was acute pulmonary embolism. It turned out that the teenager had used drugs before – at a house party in an apartment in Innsbruck. The “Krone” dedicated a separate series to Max, which appeared in August 2022.
Five teens at a drug party
A total of five young people – three girls and two boys – met in an apartment under the supervision of a Tyrolean youth institution to consume drugs. Including the young people who were housed within these four walls. Apart from Max, none of those present had a permanent job.
‘She was known in the scene as an expert’
According to information and research from “Tiroler Krone”, especially on social media, in addition to Max, another girl from this drug party has died – of an overdose! The parents of the young Tyrolean said in the course of the series “Tiroler Krone” in August 2022: “According to the scene at Landhausplatz, this girl was known as an expert and for her contacts with Mentlvilla – a Caritas institution for people with addictions . She also offered drugs herself on the Snapchat courier service. We know from her that she went to Mentlvilla twice with Max to get medicine for the party.”
“We would like to bring flowers to her grave”
On the short video platform TikTok, children and young people in Tyrol post – reportedly – sometimes annoying content – about illegal substances and deceased friends. This is also the case with the death of the young girl. “Rest in peace angel”, “Fly up you beautiful angel”, “Indescribable, I will miss you so much”, “We would like to bring flowers to her grave”, read the comments. The deceased herself recently lost a person from her close circle of friends – also to a drug overdose.
Such fates are not uncommon
As has been reported several times, children and young people who die of overdose in Tyrol are not uncommon. One of the reasons is probably Austrian law: Drug-addicted children and young people can decide for themselves whether they want to undergo therapy. The parents have no say. Unless there is acute danger to themselves or others.
