The Constitutional Court (TC) has rejected the Community of Madrid’s appeal against the tax on large fortunes, which the regional government submitted in February this year, considering it as an ‘attack’ against the Community of Madrid, thus the rate approved. .
As legal sources confirmed to EFE, the vote resulted in a seven-to-four majority.
The temporary solidarity tax on large fortunes, approved for the years 2023 and 2024, covers net assets of more than 3 million euros, is accrued on December 31 of each year and the filing of the declaration takes place between July 1 and 31.
Last September, the National Court already ruled out a provisional suspension of the tax, as intended by the Madrid Association of Family Businesses (AMEF), on the understanding that this would mean the suspension of a law, something beyond its powers.
