At the après-ski, someone probably let it go too much: a Dutch ski holiday maker (24) got lost on Sunday evening on his way to his accommodation in the Tyrolean Zillertal. After he failed to arrive there, his companions sounded the alarm. A major search was launched.
According to the police, the young holidaymaker separated from his three companions on the way to the accommodation in Gerlos in the middle of the night. When he still hadn’t arrived there after a while, his colleagues reported his absence to the police around 2:45 am.
Police, firefighters, mountain rescue on duty
After an initial search for the missing Dutchman turned up nothing, the mountain rescue service and the fire brigade were called in to provide support around 4:30 am. The troops then searched the area extensively and intensively. The search was finally called off at around 06:30 without success.
In the end, the holidaymaker was found shortly before 8 a.m. near a hotel in Gerlos – luckily unharmed. “Due to his alcohol consumption, he apparently lost his mind,” the police said.
Colleagues did not help in the search
Particularly curious and anything but friendly: According to information from “Krone”, the man’s three companions did not help in the search. Why is not known. Maybe they were too drunk too.
