When the police know you better than you’d like! In Ansfelden, detectives did not have to search long for a robbery – a colleague recognized the suspect from the surveillance video.
The 18-year-old from Haid near Ansfelden probably felt unnoticed when he struck shortly before 6 p.m.: he pushed aside the cashier of a supermarket in Haid, grabbed the cash drawer and fled with the stolen money.
The police immediately started a search while colleagues viewed the video surveillance images – because the robber did not go unnoticed. Since the boy had refrained from any kind of masking or disguise, but his face was “known to the authorities”, it happened very quickly then.
“Because I know,” said one of the officers, and the police drove to the suspect’s address, where they waited for him half an hour after the crime. They arrested him on the spot and took him to the police detention center in Linz.
