In Gries im Sulztal in the Tyrolean Oberland, a 52-year-old resident has been missing since Monday. The man had never come home from a walk. A major search was launched at the end of the afternoon. This had to be aborted in the night without result.
The 52-year-old from Gries near Längenfeld (Imst district) set out in the early morning hours. “After the man did not return from his walk as usual in the afternoon and a search for relatives yielded no results, an emergency call was made, the police said.
Also drones and dogs in the search
At around 5 p.m., a major search was finally launched, involving mountain rescue services, the fire brigade and the Alpine police. “Sniffer dogs and drones were also deployed in the vicinity of the house and on the surrounding hiking trails,” the detectives continue.
But the search for the missing person was unsuccessful – it was finally broken off at around 0:45 am. The search continued on Tuesday.
