A date on the dating app Bumble has become an absolute nightmare for a Texas woman: When she met 21-year-old Zachary Mills in his and did not respond to his sexual advances, the young man’s fuses blew. He began beating the woman and held her for days. Only after five days of abuse and sexual abuse was she able to free herself.
Mills invited the woman to his Tomball flat on Christmas Eve after they met on the dating app. According to the prosecution, he wanted to sleep with her, but she refused. He then punched the face, first with his fists, then with the handle of a screwdriver, as police spokesman Mark Herman described the brutal act.
Defendant released on bail due to house arrest
Over the next five days, the 21-year-old repeatedly sexually assaulted and even bitten the woman. When he finally visited his father, the victim was able to flee to the neighbours. The woman was taken to hospital, where bite marks, bruises and cuts to her nose and throat were diagnosed and treated. Mills was arrested that same day and charged with kidnapping. He has since been released from prison on $50,000 bail and is under house arrest.
